CNO Financial Group Media Buyer - REMOTE from any US based location in central time zone in Chicago, Illinois

CNO Financial Group’s Marketing team is hiring a Media Buyer to optimize and grow campaigns, analyze competitive reporting, negotiate buys – either directly or through partner agencies -and assist with business intelligence to help guide our buys.

As a Media Buyer , your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, negotiating, buying and maintaining performance media schedules in conjunction with Sr. Campaign Strategist

  • Monitoring and managing purchased media to ensure commercials appear as planned

  • Negotiating with vendors to acquire cost-effective and budget conscious advertising opportunities across paid media channels (Audio, Inserts, OOH, TV, OTT, etc.)

  • Optimizing media spend making real-time adjustments as needed to meet business line goals and objectives

  • Optimizing media performance based on KPIs. Shapes buy to ensure spend is allocated to a diverse group of quality outlets/publishers.

  • Engaging with media agency(s) and manage day-to-day deliverables

  • Monitoring, managing, and traffic flighting of commercials

  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in media buying in order to make solid media recommendations

  • Providing regular reports to management on media buying activities and campaign performance

The Media Buyer position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Have previous experience with media planning and buying tools, such as Core Media Management System and Vivvix (formerly Kantar)

  • Are experienced with cross-channel buying , including but not limited to: Audio, Inserts, OOH, TV, OTT, etc.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Exhibit strong relationship building & negotiation skills with media partners, vendors, and measurement partners.

  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills

  • Are Proficient at problem-solving and brainstorming for thoughtful solutions

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, or a related field OR 8 years of relevant experience as an equivalent

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a strategic and quantitative paid media buying role

  • Prior Audio buying experience (ie radio, streaming audio, etc.)

  • Experience with media planning and buying tools, preferably experience with Core Media Management System and Vivvix (formerly Kantar)

  • Experience with cross-channel buying , including but not limited to: Audio, Inserts, OOH, TV, OTT, etc.

What will set you apart:

  • National, regional or local media planning/buying experience preferred

  • Previous work leading the execution of a variety of media programs

  • 5+ years experience in a strategic and quantitative paid media buying role

  • Experience in multiple channels, including audio, TV & OTT

  • Knowledge of insurance category

This role can be full time work from home (WFH), also known as Remote. This role can be performed from any US based location within the central time zone. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.

Associates who live within a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Chicago, and Milwaukee) have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and are encouraged to come into the office at least twice per month.
