CNO Financial Group LTC Claims Auditor in Chicago, Illinois
CNO Financial Group is hiring a LTC Claims Auditor to complete audits of claim and Consumer Relations transactions (initial, continuation, recertification, complaints and appeals) accurately and timely to ensure compliance to state regulations, policy language and internal processes and protocols. This role identifies and helps mitigate financial, process and/or compliance related risks based on audit results.
This is your opportunity to work effectively and collaboratively with the Consumer Relations, Risk Management, Claims and Training teams to implement changes to LTC processes and procedures.
As a LTC Claims Auditor, your responsibilities will include:
Manage and complete assigned audits and projects accurately and on-time
Manage audits including evaluation of claim and provider eligibility decisions, proof of loss requirements, claim payment calculations, other claim provisions (e.g., denials, insufficient evidence, elimination period, covered and non-covered expenses, appropriate file documentation) and accurate and complete communication to policyholders and providers
Objectively assess the quality of claim transactions processed by all claim examiners
Identify and help implement changes that help LTC with the quality and consistency of decision-making and claim processing
Effectively present and discuss issues with business owners and work collaboratively with management to develop achievable action plans
Track and communicate open audit items (OPUS follow-ups) to ensure timely closure and to comply with all process controls
Identify and communicate best practices for process improvements
Seek potential opportunities for process improvements in the Audit process, as well as the Claims and Consumer Relations processes
Apply audit skills and claim knowledge in a proactive manner rather than merely completing audits
The LTC Claims Auditor position is well-suited for you if you have:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
System knowledge including Microsoft applications
Ability to prioritize, research, analyze, and problem solve
Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, demonstrate critical-thinking skills, and exercise effective time-management skills
Ability to work independently
What you’ll need:
Associates degree or 4 years experience as equivalent
Three experience in insurance and/or financial institution with specialization in auditing, compliance, and/or regulatory review

- Strong LTC product knowledge
This role is full time work from home (WFH), also known as Remote. This role can be performed from any US based location within the central or eastern time zone. CNO Financial Group offices reopened in April 2022 and is pursuing a hybrid working model. Associates who live within a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Philadelphia, Orlando and Milwaukee) will have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and work from home at least 3 days/week. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
