CNO Financial Group Senior Actuary, Life and Annuity Modeling REMOTE from any US based location in central or eastern time zones in Carmel, Indiana

CNO Financial Group’s Actuarial Department is hiring a Sr Actuary, Life and Annuity Modeling to manages all valuation activities for other CNO Business (OCB) annuity blocks of business.

This is your opportunity to develop and maintain models reflecting GAAP, STAT, Tax, and Bermuda valuation requirements.

As a Sr Actuary, Life and Annuity Modeling, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide management with critical analysis to support and improve the financial results of the company’s life and annuity lines of business.

  • Manage projections to support the financial planning process, GAAP assumption unlocking, statutory asset adequacy, and Bermuda reserve and capital analysis

  • Prepare and provide documentation and support for various internal and external audits and financial examinations.

  • Support management in analyzing and communicating emerging results, trends, and risks.

  • Provide analysis and support for product management filings and model implementations.

  • Present information to other business areas and senior management related to financial results and projections.

  • Partner with Enterprise Actuarial to establish and maintain a governance process for actuarial analysis.

  • Assist with completion of relevant regulatory filings, including but not limited to actuarial memoranda, rating agency requests, and 10-K.

  • Assist Bermuda Chief Actuary with relevant Bermuda calculations, analysis, and filings.

The Sr Actuary, Life and Annuity Modeling position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Have a high attention to detail.

  • Can read and interpret financial reporting.

  • Possess a deep understanding of actuarial reserving, projection, and reserve testing concepts.

  • Hold a great understanding of GAAP, Statutory, Tax, and Bermuda accounting concepts.

  • Are a strong communicator (verbal and written) with outstanding presentation skills.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or equivalent, required.

  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) required.

  • Five of relevant actuarial experience.

  • Five years of relevant valuation experience.

What will set you apart:

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).

  • Experience with Bermuda model requirements.

  • Knowledge with PolySystems and SAS.

This role is full time work from home (WFH), also known as Remote. This role can be performed from any US based location within the central or eastern time zone. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.

Associates who live within a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Orlando and Milwaukee) have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and are encouraged to come into the office at least twice per month.
