CNO Financial Group Paralegal in Carmel, Indiana

CNO Financial Group’s Legal Department is hiring a Paralegal to review and respond to subpoenas and third-party document requests, assisting in contract terminations, legal research, assisting in discovery matters, acting as a liaison, drafting letters and preparing memorandum.

This is your opportunity to be a part of customer driven legal department that supports CNO Financial Group at an enterprise level.

As a Paralegal, your responsibilities will include:

  • Review and respond to subpoenas and other third-party document requests.

  • Make independent decisions to assert attorney client privilege and other basis which may prevent production of certain documents and information.

  • Conduct legal research as needed and prepare memorandums.

  • Draft routine contracts or legal agreement terminations.

  • Respond to interrogatories and coordinate requests between internal and external counsel.

  • Retain files of prepared documents.

  • Review and edit prepared documents for accuracy.

The Paralegal position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • The ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree, in a related discipline, or paralegal certificate.

  • Three years of related work experience.

At this time, CNO is not mandating its associates to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. CNO Financial Group offices reopened in April 2022 and we are pursuing a hybrid working model. Associates who live within a 60 mile radius of a corporate office (Carmel, Chicago, Philadelphia) will have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and work from home at least 3 days/week.
