CNO Financial Group Manager Data Governance and Enablement - Remote from any US Eastern or Central time zone location in Carmel, Indiana

CNO Financial Group’s IT Department is hiring a Manager Data Governance and Enablement to be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing CNO’s Data Management Policy Program.

This is your opportunity to lead the enterprise-wide transformation around Data Management Policy and Oversight including the enhancement of the data policy framework, oversight, and user experience for stakeholders involved in the management and ownership of data.

As a Manager Data Governance and Enablement, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining data governance procedures, processes, artifacts, documents, and training materials required to operate the Data Stewardship Program. Create a data lifecycle management process.

  • Providing end-to-end data governance coverage across business functions to achieve adoption of data governance process, standards, and practices, and business value.

  • Work with business and technical Data Stewards and key business stakeholders to understand business impacts, user requirements, and the feasibility of data management solutions.

  • Direct team in developing solutions, and processes used to maintain a common, companywide data quality, control standards and data sourcing.

  • Lead and guide community of business and technical data stewards in day-to-day stewardship and governance execution.

  • Ensure that all data management and governance activities within the Business Unit are in line with the overall business objectives and make sure that Data Governance is included in project implementation.

  • Lead the data lineage and catalog Agile team as a Product Owner to help manage and optimize the product backlog based on CNO’s objective and product value.

  • Organizational Change Management responsibilities to enable our partners to instill data governance in their domain and facilitate executive meetings regarding Data Governance and Management.

The Manager Data Governance and Enablement position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Possess strong understanding of data management and analytics disciplines - how all facets of data management are integrated to provide best value.

  • Data models, data relationships, mapping lineage and business rules.

  • Documenting, and implementing business requirements, policies, procedures, and processes.

  • Have a solid understanding of regulatory report requirements and data requirements for data conformance and curation of downstream use cases.

  • Are experienced with Executive (C-Level Staff) communication and presentation.

  • Hold strong program management, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Have a hands-on approach, strong intellectual curiosity and attention to detail and organization, and a passion for achieving practical business impact.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or relevant experience.

  • Five years of relevant data management and analytics experience.

  • Previous experience managing people preferred. Also managing cross organizational teams – dotted line.

  • Compliance programs preferred.

  • Required experience with the following:

  • Data discovery, profiling, mapping, classification, quality and linage tools (e.g. BigID, Informatica EDC, Informatica Axon, and Informatica Data Quality).

  • Performing data analytics and writing complex SQL queries.

  • Data management best practices and disciplines including data governance, data architecture, data quality, analytics, and business intelligence.

  • Agile project methodology and activities, as well as build and release management in software development lifecycles (SDLC).

At this time, CNO is not mandating its associates to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. This role is full time work from home (WFH), also known as Remote. This role can be performed from any US based location within the central or eastern time zone. CNO Financial Group offices reopened in April 2022 and we will be pursuing a hybrid working model. Associates who live within a 60 mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Philadelphia, Orlando and Milwaukee) will have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and work from home at least 3 days/week. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
