CNO Financial Group Lead System Architect, REMOTE from any US based location in central or eastern time zones in Carmel, Indiana

CNO Financial Group’s IT Unit is hiring a Lead System Architect to act as the lead for other architects and developers. This includes customizing best practices for designing and building digital solutions and oversee digital development and design principles. The Lead System Architect will serve as a system subject matter expert and will ensure system and application functionality align to business goals, objectives, and vision and will work within high limits of authority on assignments requiring high technical complexity and coordination.

As a Lead System Architect, your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead other architects and developers that are located onshore and offshore

  • Work closely with scrum teams and business areas to ensure that the technical architecture of the delivered solution matches the client’s requirements.

  • Configures the product (or) tool in the construction phase including complex integrations between systems and the development of complex automated activities.

  • Ensures adherence to the tool development design principles, and guardrails.

  • Creates and evolves enterprise policies and standards.

  • Drives creation of a Central Asset Repository; defines best practices and processes around designing and building reusable assets.

  • Reviews and certifies reusable assets for inclusion into the Central Asset Repository.

  • Acts as a team lead and liaison for large projects with high visibility into the work that onshore and offshore developers are doing.

  • Drives test strategy and development and serves as lead consultant to ensure alignment to business goals, objectives, and vision.

  • Performs on-going analysis for input into future looking strategy and technologies.

  • Provides in-depth technical consultation to clients and IT management to ensure development of efficient application systems utilizing established standards, procedures and methodologies.

The Lead System Architect position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Show experience in a variety of technologies including but not limited to C#, .NET MVC, ASP.NET, Relational Database design and programming (Oracle and SQL Server), HTML, Javascript, React, and Angular

  • Have experience with Sitecore or Pega

  • Have experience developing Mobile solutions

  • Have experience with managing structured and unstructured data and re-use of data across applications

  • Possess strong knowledge of Agile and SCRUM methodologies.

  • Show proven experience as a servant leader providing clear technical direction to multiple teams

  • Have experience working on multiple initiatives across multiple platforms, at once

  • Have a high level of communication and diplomacy skills to direct, persuade, and influence others, particularly at senior levels within the function

  • Demonstrate high level knowledge of object-oriented techniques and principles, the system development life cycle, system and application program development, technical alternatives, and architecture methodologies for multi-platform environments

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or in related disciple; or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred

  • Eight years of proven experience customizing best practices for designing and building sales and marketing solutions

  • Experience leading and executing unit and user acceptance testing and experience leading onshore and offshore development teams

  • Experience working within the Scrum Framework and Object oriented (OO), required

  • Experience with SAFe, preferred

  • Knowledge of Content Management and eCommerce Systems such as Sitecore or Liferay

This role is full time work from home (WFH), also known as Remote. This role can be performed from any US based location within the central or eastern time zone. CNO Financial Group offices reopened in April 2022 and is pursuing a hybrid working model. Associates who live within a 60 mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Philadelphia, Orlando and Milwaukee) will have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and work from home at least 3 days/week. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
